Hello,

Welcome.

First you have to create a new environnment variable : OFORTH_PATH with value the directory where have installed Oforth.
For instance : \Home\Oforth

You can also add this directory to your PATH variable in order to launch Oforth from everywhere.

Then, you can to launch oforth into a command prompt. If you want to run oforth in interpreter mode, you can use --i command line option :
oforth --i

At first I was having a bit of a challenge finding my environmental settings for my Windows 7 machine, but this is the method:

Assuming that Oforth.exe is in a folder whose path is C:\Oforth\.

Click the Start button from the desktop.
Type " Path " in the Search programs and files textbox.
Click Edit the system environment variables.
Click Advanced Tab.
Click Environment Variables button.
Click New.
Select Variable name and type: OFORTH_PATH
Select Variable value and type: C:\Oforth\
Click OK, OK, Apply.

Also, Norton Security Suite will "flag" Oforth.exe as untrustworthy and quarantine it till you set Norton's File Insight to TRUST.

Thank you for your return.

I didn't know that Norton was flagging oforth.exe as an untrustworthy program.
I had a return that, for avast, oforth is ok.

I will try to find out why.
Thanks again.

Hi Franck, there's nothing in the executable that Norton flags as suspect. It's just that the pool of Norton community of users who've downloaded oforth is very small, and this automatically triggers the antivirus program to quarantine it as would any program new to it's database. One simply has to set it as trusted within Norton as a matter of course. Have a great day! :)

Ah ok...

I was a little worried about that.

So let's make Oforth community grow :)

Thanks a lot,
Franck
